Vincent Zilius September 12, 1938- May 12, 2025
Vincent Zilius, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 12, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas. Vince was born in Chicago, IL, to William and Ann Zilius. A graduate of St Ignatius College Prep, Vincent furthered his education at Roosevelt University, earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Public Administration. He proudly served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. Vincent was married to his beloved wife, Rita Fitzpatrick on August 13, 1966. Together, they raised their daughters in Downers Grove, IL, and Redlands, CA, and were welcoming host parents to AFS exchange students. Vincent dedicated his career to the GAO before establishing Zilius Bookkeeping and Tax Service after retirement. He was actively involved in the Loyal Knights of the Round Table charity and, alongside Rita, volunteered at the Salvation Army homeless shelter and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, bible study, dancing, and spending time with friends. His greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Wrenn of Seattle, WA, and Laurann Sage (Tony) of Overland Park, KS, and his grandchildren, Max Wrenn and Madeleine, Gabriella, and Anthony Sage. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; their daughter, Ann Marie; his parents; his brothers, Robert and Edward Zilius; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Fitzpatrick Visitation will be held at Emmerson Bartlett on June 3 from 4-8 pm. A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus on June 4 at 11 am, followed by burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the PKD Foundation.
