Tony Saldana 81, a lifetime resident of Redlands, beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, passed away May 6, 2023 peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Tony was born on March 21, 1942 in Redlands. He attended Lincoln School, Cope Junior High and graduated from Redlands High School in 1961. Tony’s passions were watching old western movies, going to the swap meet and yard sales, cruising in his 59 Chevy Impala, going to car shows, and listening to his oldie’s. He was a member of Oldie Style Califas Car Club. Tony loved to tell stories about the history of Redlands and his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Tony was a strong, hardworking man. He worked at Weyerhaeuser paper company for many years and retired in 2004.
He is survived by his sons Frank Saldana and Anthony Saldana, daughters Annette Venegas-Martinez and son-in-law Eddie, Priscilla Castillo and son-in-law Raul, and Vickie Necochea. Grandchildren Patricia, Cerina, Cassandra, Toni, Adriana, Merena, Monique, Sody, Gabriel, Anthony, Katrina, Jennie, Eliza and Kenny. Great-grandchildren
Albert, Victor, Richard, Haley, Noah, Emma, Alissa, Daisy, Vincent, Aiden, Adrian, Rafael, Legend, Ezra, Yvonne, and Adriana. Sister Tessie Moreno and brother Ernie Saldana. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rita Saldana, parents Antonio and Jennie Saldana, sisters Dolly Rodriguez, Kiki Barbo, Marie Lara, Betty Saldana, brothers Rudy Gardea, Joe Gonzales and great grandson Frankie Gomez.
He was loved by everyone he met and will truly be missed by all.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave, Redlands, CA. Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:30 am at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, CA
Celebration of life to follow after graveside service at Lucy’s Ranch.
