Thomas F. Grimes, Iii

Thomas F. Grimes, III, 51, passed from this life on December 19, 2020. Tom was born on September 30, 1969 in Corona, CA to Thomas and Carol Grimes and was a resident of Calimesa, CA. He graduated from Yucaipa High School (1987) and University of Redlands (2000).

Tom and his family recently returned to Calimesa after having served in the mission field in Tirana, Albania for 10 years. He had just begun serving as assistant principal at Wildwood Christian Academy.

Affectionately known as "Mr. Awesome" and often referred to as a "Gentle Giant" because of the size of his heart, Tom will be remembered as a FAITHFUL servant of the Lord Jesus, who had such a great LOVE for his family and a heart of SERVICE. He was a faithful FRIEND and MENTOR to many. His stories, laughter and contagious love will be missed by all those who knew him. Above all things, Tom wanted everyone to know the PEACE and HOPE that he experienced through a relationship with JESUS.

Tom is survived by his wife, Julie, of 29 years, daughters Ella Grimes Soo Hoo and her husband Ethan, Claire Grimes and Hope Grimes. Tom is also survived by his parents, Tom and Carol Grimes of Calimesa, brother, Kevin Grimes of Oregon and sister, Rebecca Mintz of Washington; as well as much loved extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 5 pm at Wildwood Calvary Chapel in Yucaipa.
