Her grandson Ernest Henry became an Air Force Colonel, which gave her great joy. Her son Robert served during Vietnam War Era who provided her with great pride. Her daughter Dorothy is a proud widow of Vietnam Era Veteran also serving Norton AFB.

Other employers: James Sloan, A Gordon Reynolds, long time photographer, William Elmer Kingham, Dr Morris. She knew Mary Kimberly Shirk of Kimberly Crest who was James Sloan neighbor across from Prospect Park.

She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church encouraging her children to complete all sacraments, daughters to participate in the offering of flowers to our Holy Mother under the Guidance of Father Mesa.

She was guided, motivated and inspired by long time YMCA Dance Teacher Dolores Orwig who created Redlands first ever solo child dance performance of Ballet Folklorico at Redlands Bowl via youngest daughter Yolanda. This extended toward involvement and passion, assisting Graciela Tapia Ballet Folklorico Troupe entrance into Redlands community via youngest daughter Yolanda’s consistent involvement along with Socorro’s sister Victoria and her daughters. Her passion extended toward consistent volunteerism of supporting cultural dance to local convalescent home entertainment. She was known to be generous with her time for the elderly, which was in reverence to her culture and religious path.

She was popular with her filet mignon tamale recipe, which was an extension of her mother‘s recipe that she revised and handed down to most appreciative family and friends. She had the biggest heart, smile and dimples, infectious humor to delight all who were fortunate to be touched by her light and beauty…
