Ruthanne "Cookie" Sertick passed on January 14, 2026, in no pain. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God the Father. We just celebrated her 83rd birthday in December, 2025.
Ruthanne and I were also getting ready to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary on July 2nd of this year. I would some times send her a card addressed to "Girla the Girl" and she would send me cards named to "Tommy-John". Ruthanne was a college graduate and she was still a licensed real-estate agent.
I told her I married her becaue I wanted a woman older than me and smarter than me. Yes, she was 1 and a half months older and people would say she was smarter, ha-ha, I made her laugh. Ruthanne studied family and criminal law. But most of all she read and studied the bible every day. I always said we were like the "Bereans" proving the bible what was true. Ruthanne loved for people to tell her about their lives. I was unaware of how many people she helped with problems they had. When they heard of her death many expressed to me their gratitude for her concern she showed to them.
Ruthanne was my best friend, my buddy, my confidant and my boss,...
I know that Jesus and God the Father promise in Rom 8:28 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Sweet-hart I love you and miss you. - Girla
