Rosemary (Rodee) Hackett Pausz, 79, from Highland, CA passed away on March 19, 2026 at St. Bernadine’s hospital from a heart attack.

Rodee was born February 12, 1947 in Waco, Texas, the daughter of Ben and Josephine Hackett. Rodee graduated from Waco High School in Waco, Texas. Following High school she attended Texas Technical University in Lubbock, Texas and received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. A Masters Degree in Education was received from California State University San Bernardino in 1988. Rodee and Tony were married for 48 years. She worked for the San Bernardino Unified School District for 37 years until retiring in 2009, as a high school administrator. After retirement Rodee continued to support San Bernardino high school events in the area of education and sports. Rodee had a very skilled talent for creating flower arrangements. She used her creativity in assisting with high school proms, football Senior Night and homecomings. She thought nothing can bring a smile to someone’s face faster than flowers. Rodee began making corsages and boutonnieres for the annual Best Buddies Prom, held at the National Orange Show, which provides a magical night for students with special needs. Rodee took this upon herself, simply to bring joy to others. She literally made 100’s of corsages and boutonnieres every year.

On senior night, at Cajon High School, Rodee would create mums for all of the parents and their extended family! She would personalize every single mum, including a mum for all of her workers. Those who helped Rodee, every year, became her “Mum Squad” and they were so proud to be part of her team.

Rodee had a way of making everyone feel special.

Rodee was also an avid tennis player winning the San Bernardino City Tennis Tournament in the 35 age division. She continued playing tennis into her 70s. She volunteered to run a popular evening social tennis league for Redlands Racquet club.

Rodee was predeceased by parents and brother Ben Jr Hackett. Surviving in addition to spouse Tony are brothers Sammie Hackett in Buda Texas and Ricky Hackett in Austin Texas.
