Raymond Patrick Welch Sr, “Pat”, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2025. Born in Huntington Park, CA on December 4, 1943, he was the son of the late James and Marie Welch. He is survived by his loving wife Susan Welch. He leaves behind his daughter Maria Patrice Winn and her husband Chris Winn, and his son Raymond Patrick Welch Jr, “PJ”, as well as his three grandchildren Aidan Patrick Winn, Ruby Theresa Winn, and Isabella Marie Welch. He was the brother of the late James Michael Welch.
He was raised in Redlands, CA where he met his wife Susan and they were married on September 6, 1969. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Aquinas High School. He was a freshman walk-on for the University of Arizona football team in 1962. He moved to 29 Palms with his family in March 1976 after purchasing Cardinal Van & Storage, Twentynine Palms Van & Storage and Hi Desert Moving & Storage. In the years that followed he expanded the business to include Monument M&S in 1978 and Palmcaster M&S in 2019.
Pat was a 40-year member, and former two-time President of the 29 Palms Rotary Club. He devoted his time and support to the community through several volunteer and charitable contributions, most notably the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive with the 29 Palms High School Interact Club.
He loved classic GM cars, gardening, and fishing in Mexico. He was a selfless person who gave without asking anything in return. More than anything he loved his family and friends. He leaves behind a lasting legacy and memories that will live in our hearts forever.
Celebration of Life services will be held in honor on his 50th Anniversary weekend, as a resident and business owner in 29 Palms.
