Priscilla Rose Thornton

Nov 1, 1940 — Jun 7, 2026

Priscilla Rose Thornton, 85, of Yucaipa, California, passed away peacefully in her home on June 7, 2026. She lived a full life defined by love, laughter, strength, and compassion.

Born on November 1, 1940, in San Francisco, California, Priscilla brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. While she deeply loved being a mother, she especially cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family and friends were the center of her world.

An avid lover of the outdoors and crafting, Priscilla could often be found spending time on the Colorado River, captaining her various boats and her beloved houseboat. When the Arizona heat became too intense, she loved escaping to Mexico. Back at home, she was the ultimate host, always welcoming people into her space with open arms. Priscilla was also incredibly creative and generous with her talents, famously sewing beautiful blankets for everyone she cared about and dedicating her time to numerous other craft hobbies.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jerry Thornton, and her son, Frank Whitaker.

She is survived by her loving children: daughter Natasha Burke of Nashville, TN; daughter Karen Warren and her husband Bob of Redding, CA; son Stan Whitaker and his wife Annette of Redlands, CA; Kip Larsen of Bullhead City, AZ; and step-daughter Karen Hamilton of CA.

Priscilla's legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michelle Marks(husband Steve, children Spencer and Ava), Dustin Whitaker (wife Glenna, children Kaylie and Keagan),Jerade Caulkins, Lindsey Moyer (husband Phil, children Lillyana, McKenzie, and Daxton); Brandon Whitaker, Corin Burke, Christina, Elizabeth, and Bradley Hamilton and Heidi and Rayna Larsen.
