Patricia Ann Gemmell

Patricia was born in Utica, NY, where she lived until the end of WWII. After the war, her mother Louise, and father Ernest moved to El Monte, CA. Upon graduation from El Monte High in 1956, she moved to San Bernardino for work. It was soon after that she met Ronnie Gemmell, a Colton firefighter and they married, celebrating 59 years together. In those years, Pat studied education and started as an aid at Colton School District where she then became an elementary teacher in Colton and Bloomington for 20 years. Towards the end of her teaching career, she earned her master's degree and finished teaching in the reading recovery program. She and Ronnie enjoyed retirement, traveling to visit family, and an occasional cruise. When chatty Patty wasn't talking with fellow teachers, family, and friends, you could find her reading one of her books or magazines. She is survived by her son and numerous nephews and nieces. You are invited to attend memorial services held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:15pm, at Riverside National Cemetery.
