Obituary

Marianne McNaul Haynes

February 10, 1946 – February 18, 2026

Yucaipa, California

Marianne Haynes passed peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband Bill, at the age of 80. With her characteristic grace and quiet strength, she slipped away just weeks after returning from a memorable Panama cruise—one of many adventures she cherished in her well-traveled retirement years.

Born February 10, 1946, in Upland, California, to Marion McNaul Sterner, Marianne was lovingly adopted and raised by Clyde S. McNaul. She grew up with two brothers, Michael and Clyde S. McNaul, both of Yucaipa in later years. The family moved to Riverside during her early childhood, then settled in Yucaipa, where she graduated from high school and began building the life she would treasure.

Her first job away from home town was being a waitress for the historic Harvey House Restaurant in San Bernardino brought more than a paycheck—it brought Bill Haynes into her life. Their chance meeting sparked a love story that lasted nearly 58 years. They married in June 1968, settled in Yucaipa, and built a warm, close-knit family. Marianne and Bill raised two children: daughter Stacie Bartlett of Yucaipa and son Bill Haynes of Rancho Mirage.

Marianne’s career flourished at Beaver Medical Group in Redlands, where she worked as a claims manager for 24 dedicated years before retiring. Known for her reliability, kindness, and sharp attention to detail, she touched countless lives through her work.

Above all, Marianne was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her. Family was her heart’s true north. She delighted in cooking hearty meals for a crowd, tending her garden, and keeping an ever-growing entourage of hummingbirds well-fed in the backyard—she joked they were her “extra grandkids.” Retirement opened new chapters of joy: exploring the country in their motorhome, taking cruises to far-off places, and simply savoring time with Bill and the ever-expanding family.

Marianne was preceded in death by her mother Marion, her adoptive father Clyde S. McNaul, and her brother Michael McNaul. She leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by:

• Her husband of nearly 58 years, Bill Haynes

• Daughter Stacie Bartlett (Yucaipa) and son Bill Haynes (Rancho Mirage)

• Six beloved grandchildren: Sydney Lloyd (Tacoma, WA), Ashlyn Conant (Yucaipa), Gabriel Bartlett (San Francisco), Calysta Bartlett (San Diego), Brandon Haynes (Salt Lake City), and Katelyn Haynes (Corvallis, OR)

• Great-granddaughter Eleanor Conant (Yucaipa), the newest light in her world

• Brother Clyde S. McNaul (Yucaipa), along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who became family

A celebration of Marianne’s life will be held at the Plantation on the Lake Recreation Center 10961 Desert Lawn Drive in Calimesa at 1 pm on March 29th. All that knew her please come and say goodbye. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring her memory by feeding a hummingbird, cooking a favorite meal for someone special, or simply reaching out to tell a loved one how much they mean to you—small acts of kindness that echoed the way Marianne lived every day.

Marianne lived with an open heart, a ready smile, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. The hummingbirds still visit her garden, the family stories will keep being told, and her light will shine on in every hug, every shared laugh, and every quiet moment of gratitude. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
