Maria Sonobia Coyazo Yglesias, a lifelong resident of Redlands, passed away

in Yucaipa on February 10, 2026 at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Samuel and Chona Coyazo. She grew

up in Redlands and attended Redlands schools.

Maria loved her large immediate and extended family and friends. She

enjoyed bowling and never missed a chance to play bingo, at the casino or at the

senior center. She had a knack for remembering the many birthdays in her large

extended family.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her son Sam Ortiz, and seven

siblings: Sally Dominguez, Frank Coyazo, Rita Plasencia, Vera Aranda, Cecilia

Garcia, Sam Coyazo, and Consuelo Hernandez. She is survived by her daughter,

Isabel Grasmick of San Diego, and sons Frank Ortiz, Ted Ortiz, Ron Ortiz, Peter

Ortiz, and Arthur Ortiz, all of Redlands. She is also survived by her brothers Jerry

Coyazo (Margaret) and Andrew Coyazo (Andrea Ramirez), of Redlands.
