In Loving Memory of Lawrence "Larry" D. Pope

Lawrence "Larry" D. Pope, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. A proud resident of Yucaipa, California, for 54 years, Larry built a life centered on faith, service, hard work, and family.

Born on July 22, 1932, Larry served his country with honor across the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. Following his military service, he took to the open road as a cross-country truck driver, transporting goods nationwide, and later spent years delivering mail between cities and regional airports. Upon retirement, Larry continued to give back to the city he called home for over five decades by serving as a Citizen Patrol Officer alongside his life partner and wife, Phyllis.

Larry is survived by 3 children, 14 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry on his legacy of service and devotion.

He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Phyllis; his sons, Bobby and Buddy; and his granddaughter, Jessica.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Montecito Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Larry's remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Larry's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
