Jose I. Ornelas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, in Redlands, California, at the age of 77.
Jose was born at home on September 19, 1948, in Jalisco, Mexico—a story he often shared with a smile. He carried the values of hard work, humility, and devotion to family with him throughout his life.
In 1981, Jose met the love of his life, Eva, at a dance hall in Chino, California. Their love blossomed, and they were married in August 1983. Together they built a beautiful life, sharing over four decades of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. They raised two sons, Emmanuel and Alfonso, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Jose dedicated much of his career to Electra Gear in Anaheim, California, where he worked from the late 1970s until the company relocated out of state in 2005. He took great pride in his work stacking, welding, and winding industrial electric motor stators. Jose genuinely loved his career and was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication.
After Electra Gear left California, Jose found another workplace to call home at Divine Word, where he faithfully cared for the grounds and facilities. He approached every task with the same pride and commitment that defined his entire working life.
Above all else, Jose loved his family with all his heart. He was a man of quiet strength who never allowed those he loved to suffer alone if there was anything he could do to help. He was always willing to lend a hand, offer support, and make sacrifices so his family could thrive. His kindness, generosity, and steadfast love will remain an enduring legacy for all who knew him.
Jose is survived by his devoted wife, Eva; his sons, Emmanuel and Alfonso; and his three cherished grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Reyes and family, Juan and family, and Rick and family; his sisters, Lidia and family, Teresa and family, Gabriella and family, Irene and family, and Maria and family; along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.
Though Jose is no longer with us, his love, strength, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
