Howard Loyed Opdyke, Jr.

Howard Loyed Opdyke, Jr., 88, of Beaumont, CA and formerly of Washington, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Braswell Colonial Care, Redlands, CA. Howard was born on October 12, 1924 in Bethlehem Township, PA. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.Howard Loyd and Esther (nee Miller) Opdyke. He was a truck driver for Johanna Farms, a farmer, and a bartender at Pips Tavern and Felix s Tavern. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce D.Opdyke. He is survived by two sons, Rob Opdyke, David Opdyke, two daughters, Sherry York, and Jackie Stark, a sister, Arletta Dutcher, and thirteen grandchildren. A service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. An interment will follow in the Asbury Presbyterian Cemetery, Asbury, NJ.
