Mentone

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guadalupe "Lupe" Martinez, a beloved member of our community, who departed this world on July 5, 2025. Born on March 24, 1970, in El Paso, Texas, Guadalupe lived a life filled with dedication, compassion, and unwavering support for those around her.

Guadalupe devoted 26 years of her career to the Redlands Unified School District, where she touched the lives of countless students, staff, and families with her warm spirit and commitment to education. Her passion for helping others continued as she worked at Beaver Medical Group, which later became Optum, for 18 years. Even as she approached retirement in 2024, her drive to serve never waned, and she remained dedicated to her role, demonstrating the resilience and work ethic that defined her life.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her parents, Salvador Lozano and Amparo Gutierrez, who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication. Her siblings, Cecilia Martin, Maria Lopez, Salvador Lozano, and Rodolfo Lozano, will cherish the memories of their time together, each filled with laughter, love, and shared experiences that will forever bind them. She will be joining her brother Jose Castaneda, who passed in 2021.

Guadalupe was a proud mother to her three children: Cryssie Meraz, Edward Martinez, and Priscilla Martinez, who were the light of her life. They carry forward her legacy of kindness, determination, and nurturing love. She was also a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and became the center of her world.

Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to light the way for all who knew and loved her. Guadalupe Martinez was more than a family member and friend; she was a guiding star, a source of strength, and a testament to a life lived with purpose. As we remember her, we honor her unwavering dedication to family, her impactful career, and the countless lives she enriched with her warmth and love.
