Ermelinda “Linda” Amezcua Nassar, born April 7, 1958, in Long Beach, California, passed away at home on October 13, 2025, surrounded by family.
Linda was the beloved daughter of Santiago and Lupe Amezcua and is survived by her devoted husband, William Nassar; her children, Brandon Nassar and Elyse Nassar; and her cherished grandchildren, Colston and Tenley Nassar. She had a large family—sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins—all of whom will miss her larger-than-life laugh, her incredible hugs, and her natural ability to make everyone feel right at home.
She graduated from Loma Linda University in 1980 and dedicated over 34 years of her life to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic. She loved her job, especially when she worked with young families—many of those patients and colleagues becoming lifelong friends.
Outside of her career, Linda had many passions and hobbies. She found so much joy in sewing, quilting, making porcelain dolls, and cooking. Linda was an incredible cook, always entertaining family and friends, gathering in the kitchen, and filling her home with warmth. Some of her most famous dishes included chilaquiles, stuffed grape leaves, and her epic chocolate cake. She passed her tradition of making tamales along to her son, Brandon, and loved to snuggle up and have a good movie marathon with her daughter, Elyse.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children, Elyse and Brandon, and her grandchildren, Colston and Tenley. She loved nothing more than traveling to the family’s vacation home every summer on Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, spending time on the beach with her extended family and closest friends. Linda will always be remembered for her favorite spot on the beach, where she could be found enjoying a good book, watching her grandchildren swim, and chatting the day away. She also loved the adventure of antiquing—often driving for hours with her husband, Bill, all over New England in search of funky vintage dishes, baskets, and treasures.
Linda was also deeply committed to giving back. She was actively involved in raising funds for children’s hospital activities and families. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LLU Children’s Hospital NICU or to Dr. Mark Reeves’ Surgical Oncology Mission Work—two causes close to her heart.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Olive in Redlands, followed by a reception at the family home.
Linda’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—with her generosity, her laughter, and her boundless love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
