David Roland Ryder

David Roland Ryder, 45, of Perris, CA, was born on June 8, 1976 to Scott and Mary Ryder at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. David passed away on September 30, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. David’s family was gathered at his bedside in love and prayer for his final moments.

David grew-up in Redlands, California where he graduated from Redlands High School. He graduated from Riverside Community College with a degree in criminal science. In 2000, David met his wife Jennifer Gould Ryder at Crafton Community College. They fell in love and were married in 2003 – David proposed to Jen in front of the castle at Disneyland. David and Jen have three beautiful children – Caiden (15), Jackson (10), and Makenna (6). He always boasted his greatest accomplishments in life were his children and marriage to Jen.

David was a joyful presence in any room he entered. He had a tremendous sense of humor that kept those around him in stitches. You were only a stranger once with David – you knew that through the warmth of his smile and great hugs. David was never one to shy away from telling you he loved you – one of his great gifts. One of David’s passions was helping others in their time of need. He carried out that passion as a certified emergency medical technician, and he was studying to be a respiratory therapist when he passed.

David is predeceased by his grandparents Harry and Pat Ryder and Roland and Helen Bryant. Besides his parents and Jen and the kids, David is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Scott and Lisa Ryder, and their children Wyatt and Nora; his sister and brother-in-law Amy and Peter Wentz, and their children Mary Helen and Budd; his favorite uncle, Bob Ryder; his sister-in law and her husband Lesley and Travis Tate, and their children Corbin and Chloe; his mother-in-law Brenda Catt; and his father-in-law Paul Gould. David is also survived by his oldest friend Mike Branstetter, Mike’s wife Kristin, and their children who called David “Uncle Dave.”

David’s funeral will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Redlands. The family will host a reception at the church after the funeral to further celebrate David’s life – a light lunch will be provided.
