In Loving Memory of Charles Fountain Hill
MSGT Retired USAF
Charles Fountain Hill was born on October 20, 1948, in High Point, North Carolina, and passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of his family.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and built a distinguished career as an Air Traffic Controller. He approached both his military service and his profession with dedication, responsibility, and quiet strength.
On February 17, 1979, Charles married the love of his life, Susan. Together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage built on love, devotion, and unwavering commitment. Their partnership was the foundation of their family and an example of enduring love to everyone who knew them.
Charles always found joy on the golf course and at the bowling alley. Whether spending time with friends or enjoying a peaceful afternoon, he lived life with a laid-back spirit that made others feel at ease. He had a generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand, and his kindness touched the lives of many.
Above all else, Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family member, and friend. His love was constant, his presence comforting, and his quiet strength was something his family could always count on. The memories he created and the values he instilled will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Though we grieve his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his journey is one of peace. His legacy of service, generosity, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
Charles will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
“Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings…
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”
— From High Flight by John Gillespie Magee Jr.
Fair winds and following skies, Chuck. Until we meet again.
