Alice Elisa (Granados) Flores, resident of Redlands, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born in Los Angeles, California on December 5, 1943, the daughter of Juan Dominguez Granados and Ramona Orozco Granados. Alice was the eldest of ten children, including six brothers, Alfonso, Daniel, John, David, Richard and Henry, and three sisters, Annedina, Josie and Frances. She also had two older half-siblings, Robert and Virginia.
Alice spent her childhood in El Monte, California and graduated from Arroyo High School in 1962. She obtained her Associate’s Degree from East Los Angeles College in 1964. As the eldest daughter in the house, she took on the responsibility of helping her mother care for her younger brothers and sisters and she carried on this legacy of taking care of family throughout her entire life.
In the fall of 1969, at a dinner party hosted by a cousin, she met the love of her life, Edmund Arnold Flores and they were married on April 25, 1970. Due to Ed’s military service, they lived in Lubbock, Texas and then Clovis, New Mexico, before settling in Redlands in 1978. Ed and Alice were happily married until his death in 1997.
Ed and Alice had two sons, John Paul, born in 1971 and Christopher James, born in 1978. Her legacy now extends to her four grandchildren, Catherine, Caleb, Jacob and Christine.
Alice devoted her life to the service of her family and community. In addition to raising her boys, she has always been heavily involved in various charitable organizations over the years including the NCO Wives Club at Cannon AFB, and Smiley Library and the Assistance League in Redlands. She also spent twelve years at Community Bank of Redlands working as a customer service representative where she enjoyed helping members of her community. She was a gifted artist, doing portraits and murals for family members. Alice also enjoyed playing softball and golf. She was an avid reader, loved to watch movies and enjoyed spending time with friends either in her regular bowling league or playing bunco. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, her mother, Ramona and father, Juan.
Alice is survived by her two sons, John Paul and Christopher James, her grandchildren, her brothers and sisters and a large, loving extended family.
A service in Alice’s memory will be held at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel at 9:00am, Monday, March 30. She will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery alongside her late husband, Edmund, according to her wishes.
