William George Rosencrans

Through the years and in the memory of William George Rosencrans who was also called green jeans was born March 27, 1915 in Peoria, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 25, the age of 99. Parents were Bruce and Florence Rosencrans, 2 deceased sisters, Ida Blanchard, Frances Myers and one surviving sister, Bessie Springman of Montoursville, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Barney and Anna Marie VanPatten, also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also the last surviving uncle of the Getchell family and the Rosencrans family. Through the years William has lived his life with many occupation and travels, he was a farmer in Illinois, a long distance truck driver with in Pennsylvania and New York area, in 1943 U.S. Navy as a Motor Machinists', 1951 IBM Corporation as Machinists' within New York. In 1953 the family moved from New York State and drove across the United States in a Hudson Hornet, to come to California. The family moved to Costa Mesa, and then bought a home in Santa Ana where he worked as a painter of a commercial buildings and houses, and then for Gemco (Now Target stores) was a mechanic of cars, became general manager of the service department for Monte Peters Auto in Santa Ana, his final job was selling of Crowell tools. He left Santa Ana in 1972 after the death of his 1st wife Leah. After that, he moved to several other locations: Ontario, Paradise, Colton, Homeland and his final home was her in Yucaipa. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2014 at 12:00pm at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Staging Area #1.
