Twila May Mays

Twila May Grantham Mays passed away January 1, 2012 at the Rose Garden in Mentone. Mrs. Mays was born on September 12, 1916 in Springfield, Colorado to Nathan and Dolly Bessie (Clay) Grantham. On Febraury 18, 1942 she married the love of her life Robert Lee Mays and they were married for over 66 years until his death in 2009. They spent their retirement years in Redlands and Las Animas, Colorado. Mrs. Mays is survived by her four children Charlotte (Charles) Sauerwein, Salem, Ohio, Robert Carl (Gail) Mays, Cottage Grove,Or; Wanda Barnes, Netarts, Oregon; and Willi (Dale) Kowal, Poland, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Todd Jester, Kelly Jester, Kenneth Mays, Ryan Mays, Anyssa Mays, Alicia Dekle and John Harms. Four great-grandchildren: Lindsey Jester, Adam Jester, Nina Jester and Thessaly Dekle. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Norman Calvin Mays, four brothers - Raymond, Victor, Howard and Frederick and three sisters - Elva, Tweeda and Bessie. Private services were handled by Emmerson Bartlett Funeral Home in Redlands. Burial was at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands.
