Ruth Ellen Mcintyre

Ruth McIntyre Ruth McIntyre died November 15, 2014. She was born November 22, 1922 in Santa Monica, California the only child of Ester and Marvin McIntyre. After her mother s death when she was 10, Ruth lived with a variety of relatives until she struck out on her own at the age of 16. She became a Registered Nurse after graduating from San Jose State and worked for many years as a surgical nurse. Ruth became a member of AA in 1961 and moved to Yucaipa in 1983. She was always grateful for her sobriety and for the family she found there. Ruth had no biological children, but was glad to be considered a part of her dear friend Joy McMullen s family, including Joy s daughter and son-in-law Wendi and Chris Zaddack and their daughter Samantha of Wisconsin and niece Erica Parker and her two daughters of Yucaipa. In addition, Ruth leaves behind many, many adopted sons and daughters in AA and the community whose lives where blessed by knowing her. She loved her church and church family at the Church of the Nazarene on Avenue H in Yucaipa. One of Ruth s favorite songs was let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me . Ruth opened the door to peace for so many by being a true example of her best Friend, the Price of Peace, Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, in whose arms she is now safe, alongside her mother and Joy.
