Robert Gene Hamilton

Robert “Bob” Gene Hamilton, age 71, passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer on Saturday, August 27, 2016. He was born on Wednesday, November 29, 1944, in Orange, California, to the late George and Evelyn Hamilton. Bob resided in Yucaipa for 32 years. He graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1962, and then attended Santa Ana College. He was a U.S. Navy Seabee from 1965-1968 and served two tours in Vietnam. Bob recently retired from Vons as a Diesel Mechanic after 30 years of service. He was an avid reader and loved playing cribbage with his wife, Shirley. Bob and Shirley spent 37 wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Craig (Deanna) Rensch; daughters, Sheri Cook and Tammy (Randy) Conley; grandchildren, Dawn (Shawn) McCloud, Amy McIntyre, Alicia (Matt) Gondini, Amber Conley, and Brandyn Conley; great-grandchildren, Conner, Cameron, Claire, Hannah, Morgan, Carson, and Daniel, other family and dear friends. Viewing Thursday, September 1, 2016, 12:00pm, with the service at 1:00pm, Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 35208 Yucaipa Boulevard, Yucaipa, CA. Interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 11251 Desert Lawn Drive, Calimesa, CA 92320.
