Robert Elwin Drake, Sr.

Robert E. Drake, Sr., of Loma Linda, California passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the age of 86. He was born on December 29, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was drafted into the United States Army at age 18 and served in World War II as a medic. He worked various jobs during his life with the most recent being a salesman for both Desert Service Heating & Air and Williams Furnace. In 1946 he married LaVerne Wendling and they had seven children. In 1956 he and his wife, LaVerne and their two children at the time moved to Loma Linda, California where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Redlands Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne Drake; four daughters, Carol Grimes (John) of Eureka, CA; Nancy Keigley of Clinton, UT; Sallie Oliver (Brian) of Garner, NC; Georgia Burt (Karlton) of Yucaipa, CA; one son, Douglas Drake of Loma Linda, CA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane and son, Robert (Bobby) Drake, Jr. He will be dearly missed.
