Pastor Emeritus Salvador Saucedo, 82 of Redlands died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Loma Linda Veterans Administration Hospital, due to respiratory failure complications. He is survived by his wife, Grace Saucedo of Redlands, brother, Blaz Saucedo of Redlands, two sisters; Connie Valdez of Vancouver, WA and Hope Marquez of Riverside, CA. Two daughters; Cynthia Saucedo-Martinez and son-in-law Art Martinez, daughter Rhoda Arroyo and son-in-law Steve Arroyo, three grandchildren, Israel Martinez and wife Christine, Lydia Arroyo-Winslow and husband Travis Winslow and Jacob Arroyo, and five great-grandchildren; Aaleyah, Hezikyah, and Malachi Winslow and Isabelle and Israel Martinez, all of Redlands. Salvador Saucedo was Pastor of the Redlands Apostolic Church located at 1205 Texas Street for thirty years, until his retirement in 1993. During his pastor ship, he dedicated twenty years to the prison ministry at the Banning Road Camp, where he mentored many young men into ministers, evangelist, pastors and missionaries. The local church was also dedicated in serving the Hispanic community and its children. Prior to his church work, Salvador was employed as a printer for the US Government at Norton Air Force Base. In addition, for a brief time he was the owner of Sal s Print Shop in Mentone, CA. His major hobby was restoring classic cars; 1955, 56 and 57 s Chevy s. Salvador served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, from 1952 to 1954. Salvador was married to Rita Sanchez of Sanger, CA for 46 years and was preceded in her death in 1996. Salvador married Grace Ruiz from Redlands in 1998. Services will be on Thursday, December 15 at 7:00pm with visitation starting at 5:00pm at Hope Center at 1210 Ford Street in Redlands. On Friday, December 16th at 11:00 am, services will be held at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel 703 Brookside Ave. with interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park 1540 Alessandro Rd.
