Raymond G. Gonzalez

March 15, 1923 — December 9, 2014

Raymond Gonzalez Jesus Gonzalez and Macaria Gutierrez Gonzalez welcomed their only child, Raymond G. Gonzalez, on March 15, 1923. Raymond was born in Fullerton, California where his parents worked in the citrus groves on the Bastanchurry Ranch. At the age of six, after losing his parents to Tuberculosis, Raymond was cared for by his Grandmother, Isabelle Gutierrez in Jalostotitl n, Jalisco, Mexico. From the age of seven, Raymond worked on local haciendas taking care of animals and mastering the skills of a rancher. In 1942 Raymond met his wife Aurelia at a fiesta, they married two years later in Tacoaleche, Zacatecas. Raymond and Aurelia moved to Stockton, California in 1948 and built a strong family for their seven children. For 40 years, Raymond worked as a plant maintenance technician for the southern California-based, Pacific Clay, manufacturing water and sewer pipes for 40 years. He was the original do-it-yourself guru. There wasn t anything he couldn t master, put together, or fix. Guided by his deep Catholic faith and devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Raymond modeled strong moral character, love, patience, and incredible perseverance. A great storyteller, Raymond took every opportunity to share his adventures. He offered good advice, plus, he was funny and he had a spirited laugh to match his quick wit. Raymond lived a long, loving life. He is father to 7, Grandfather to 21, Great-Grandfather to 32, Great-Great Grandfather to 2 and he welcomed and loved all of our partners, Compadres, and friends. Grandpa Raymond beamed in our presence he welcomed our joy, our challenges and our achievements.
