Ralph George Cook

January 15, 1923 — May 8, 2014

Ralph George Cook passed away at 91 years young on May 8, 2014 at his home in Yucaipa. Born and raised in Hollywood, California to Lester and Irene Cook. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn, 2 sons, Larry Cook and Ronald Cook, and brother, Lester M. Cook, Jr. He is survived by his son, Chester Cook of Yucaipa, CA, and his daughter, Sharon Makovec (Mike) of Wisconsin, a brother, Raymond Cook (Barbara) of Monrovia, CA, sister-in-law, Estella Cook of Upland, CA, 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed a hobby with his brother Lester of raising, flying and racing homing pigeons in Pasadena. aka The Cook Brothers they made quite a team. They won many races together over the 20 years of flying and received many trophies for their wins. He moved with his wife Gwen of 61 years from Pasadena to Oregon. They lived in Oregon for 7 years and eventually moved to Yucaipa where they set their roots. He loved to go to the mobile park club house to play pool and put puzzles together with the guys. He loved to be called COOKIE where ever he went cause he was so sweet We would like to thank Hospice of Redlands Community Hospital for the wonderful, tender loving care that they give each and every day. THANK YOU Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1:00pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 35208 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA with a private burial at Riverside National Cemetery.
