Mildred Barker Arnett

Mildred Barker Arnett was born on Jan. 20, 1921 in Yucaipa. She passed away on June 24, 2009 at the age of 88 years, with her beloved husband, as a result of an unfortunate automobile accident. Mildred started life as part of the Barker family, whose lineage in Yucaipa goes back almost a century. Mildred was a graduate of Redlands High School in 1939, and was an active member of the Ladies of the Elks. She resided in Yucaipa for the greater portion of her life, and enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, bowling and playing cards. She rarely missed a family function, enjoying holidays and special events. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon DuVal and her husband Jay DuVal, granddaughter Sarah DuVal, and sisters, Barbara Barker Arnett and Louisa McEwen. She is preceded in death by brothers John and Jim Barker. She was known to many, if not most, by Auntie Mildred as she has countless nieces and nephews, and many more that were treated like family. Mildred touched the lives of many and will forever be loved and missed.
