Marvin Arthur Peters

Marvin A Peters, 87, died 13th of July, 2020 at his residence in Redlands, CA. He had several health issues which were being managed carefully by his amazing medical team. However, 2 days before his death he suffered a stroke which proved to be too much to recover from.
Due to COVID-19 there will not be a funeral service, however, on Monday, July 20, at 3-6 PM, there will be a viewing and a chance to relay your condolences and memories to the family at Emmerson Bartlett Mortuary, 703 Brookside Ave, Redlands, CA. There will be a private family graveside service on Tuesday, July 21 at his final resting place, Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands.
Dr. Peters was born June 23, 1933, in Flint, Michigan to Walter and Evelyn Peters. He graduated in 1969 with his PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Iowa, and then worked as a professor and research scientist at Loma Linda University Medical School until 1999.
On his birthday in 1957, he married Beverly J Peters whom has preceded him in death. They raised three children: one son and two daughters. He was a remarkable husband, father, and grandfather, and always kept his Heavenly Father uppermost in his thoughts and actions. In his life he pursued such hobbies as woodworking, gardening, playing various sports, and bird watching.
He and Beverly opened their home and hearts to many friends and students through the years. More recently they took on the role of assistants to the hospital chaplains office, going around and ministering to receptive patients. This job always gave them great fulfillment. Throughout his education, career, and retirement he always put his family and God first. Marvin will be missed until we see him again, raised up in that great resurrection morning. His greatest wish was that his family and friends would be ready for that day!
He is survived by his 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
