Martin Roger Gordon

Martin Roger Gordon, 77, passed in peace on Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Redlands, California. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Laura. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean, his two children, Tracy and Jason, his four grandchildren and brother, Elliot.

Martin was born on September 12, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York. Martin loved baseball and grew up a New York Yankees fan. After he graduated high school in Brooklyn, he enlisted in the United States Army. During that time, Martin was stationed in Germany and assigned to the armor division as a tank platoon leader. After a minor incident of getting the platoon lost for a few hours, he was relieved of his position.

After his honorable service in the military, Martin moved to California where he met his wife, Jean. They had two children, Tracy and Jason. During this time, Martin balanced work and family life until he retired from sales at the age of 50. Martin enjoyed sports, weightlifting, and heckling telemarketers. Martin loved music and listening to artist such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and the Beatles. Martin was a grandfather under the alias of “Bumpa.” “Bumpa” loved his family and home cooked meals. “Bumpa” played on a seniors softball team and became an expert ar trick shooting in golf. The word “Four” was shouted quite often. Bumpa’s soul outlived his body and passed on November 20, 2021. Martin “Bumpa” Gordon shared his life laughing, joking, and loving his family.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at 11:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA with interment to follow at Riveride National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA at 1:30pm.
