Marilyn Sue Donnelly

Marilyn Sue Donnelly, 90, of Redlands passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2020. She was born in Stockton, California on April 12, 1930 and was the only child of Harold and Sue Moyer. Marilyn lived most of her life in Redlands, graduating from Redlands High school in 1948. She was married for over 50 years to John Albert Donnelly before his passing in 2008. Marilyn worked most of her adult life as a preschool teacher as well as director at various schools in the area and devoted her life to the education of young children. After retiring she kept very active, attending the Drayson Center in Loma Linda to exercise and would often say she disliked chair aerobics because it was for "old people". She had a wonderful group of friends who joined her, and she was an advocate of fitness and health. She was also able to travel the world with John, and in her home she proudly displayed the treasures she collected abroad. Marilyn loved shopping as well and was a true baker at heart. In her early 20s she won the National Orange Show baking contest and her family delighted in the dozens of Christmas cookies baked each year. She had a great sense of adventure and went ziplining and hot air ballooning in her 80s. Marilyn is survived by three children; Mike Donnelly (Joanie), Becky Haynes (Brendan) and Lynn Williams, 7 grandchildren; Lindsey, Lauren, Sarah, Aaron, Emily, Sami, and Holden and 3 great grandchildren, Crue, Luna, and Rowan. She also leaves behind many other family and close friends. Services are pending due to COVID. Donations made in her name to the Alzheimers Association are greatly appreciated.
