Marie Stadler

May 4, 1928 — June 17, 2014

Marie Daniels Stadler, 86, passed away on June 7, 2014 at Redlands Community Hospital after a brief illness. Marie was born May 4, 1928 in Portage Township near Hecla, South Dakota, to parents Joe and Emma Daniels. She was the fourth of eight siblings. Marie was preceded in death by her husband William A. Stadler, her parents, two brothers; Ernest (Elsie), and John (Ann), and four sisters; Blanche (Virgil Williams) Deboise, Martha Ware Buchanan Jepson, Nina (Norris) Heinemann, and Mae LeCornu. While living in New Jersey, she met Bill Stadler whom she would later marry on July 31, 1948. The young couple moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where Bill became an engineer for WDAY-TV and both daughters, Marie and Linda, were born. Later, they moved to the Washington D. C. suburb of, Seat Pleasant, as Bill was hired by the United States Information Agency. In 1969 they moved to California where Bill worked at Norton Air Force Base s audio visual department. After his retirement, the couple sold their Redlands home and eventually moved to Yucaipa. Marie enjoyed painting, was an avid reader, and enjoyed the company of two rescued cats. Like many Finns, Marie was born into the Lutheran Church, but, when she married; she converted to the Catholic faith which became a source of strength and comfort throughout her adult life. This would prove to be true when Marie contracted Meningitis shortly before the marriage of her daughter, Linda. Although the sickness nearly killed her, she fought with incredible strength and determination, or what the Finnish people call sisu. Marie is survived by her daughters, Marie (Sister Annuntiata) and Linda Lampi; son-in-law Robert Lampi; one grandson, William, and one granddaughter Marie (Brandon); one brother, Kenneth Daniels and sister-in-law, Jane Daniels, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A viewing will be from 5 8 pm Wednesday June 25,2014 at Emmerson-Bartlett, Yucaipa, and a rosary at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Francis Cabrini Church, Yucaipa, on Thursday, June 26,2014 at 10:00. Graveside to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Calimesa, Ca.
