Marcy Ureno Monguia

Marcy Ureño Monguia passed away peacefully on November 19th. She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on October 23, 1921. After the end of World War II, she married her husband Albert Monguia, and they moved to San Bernardino, CA. Together, they raised their five children.             After moving to San Bernardino, Marcy proudly gained her citizenship in 1956. Though she was a homemaker, she also was like a second mother, and later grandmother, to many of the neighborhood children. A gifted woman, Marcy would sew dresses and clothes for her young grandchildren and for their dolls, as well as sock monkeys for them. Marcy enjoyed growing plants and taking care of her garden. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.             A breast cancer survivor of 30 years, Marcy was a strong woman, and will be greatly missed. Marcy was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings. She leaves behind her children Albert Jr. (Pat), Manuel (Anna), Richard, Mercedes Rachel (John), and Enrique (Sonia); grandchildren Manuel Jr., Angela (Joe), Tina, Mary-Rachel, Teresa, Emily, Marisa, and Alejandro; and four great-grandchildren.             A viewing will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 35208 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA on November 30th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church at 12687 California St. in Yucaipa on December 1st at 10am. Reception will follow.
