Merle D. Peterson

Merle passed away at home on 9/11/2022 at the age of 78 of natural causes. Born December 27th, 1943 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Merle J. and Anna Margaret Peterson. He honored his country by enlisting in the United States Airforce and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He later served the Air Force as a heavy equipment mechanic. Merle retired as a MAST/E7. He was stationed across the country, but his primary assignment was in the Inland Empire.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, his two daughters, and two granddaughters. He is also survived by his beloved dog that he frequently referred to as his “Wonder dog”. Merle will be missed by his family who will be celebrating his life and patriotism on Monday, at a private service, at Riverside National Cemetery.
