Lorraine Cabral Valdez

After being treated at Redlands Community Hospital, Lorraine C. Valdez age 73, a lifetime resident of Redlands, California, passed away on December 4, 2022, due to congestive heart failure at Loma Linda University Hospital. She was born on January 29, 1949, to Richard and Sadie Cabral. Lorraine attended Lincoln School, Cope Jr. High, and Redlands High School, eventually obtaining her diploma and accounting certificate to assist in running the family company, Richard S. Cabral construction. Lorraine started as a noon duty aid at Lugonia Elementary, became a Special Education teaching assistant at Cope Jr. High, then was an attendance clerk at Kingsbury Elementary. She worked her way up to her final role as an attendance clerk at Redlands High School where she spent 20 years serving several generations of students. Altogether, she dedicated 33 years of service to Redlands Unified School District and very much enjoyed retired life rooting for LA teams and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include life companion of 31 years, Carlos “Carly” Lara, two daughters, Veronica “Rock” Valdez-Medina and Theresa “Terrie” Valdez-Rubio, seven grandchildren, Andrew Martinez, Francine Rubio, Darlene Medina, Robert Rubio, Isaac Rubio, Rick Medina, and Richlynn Medina, and six great-grandchildren, Emily Martinez, Amora Martinez, Marisol Martinez, Kinsley Salazar, Esperanza Martinez, and Vicente Martinez. As well as her mother, Sadie R. Cabral and two brothers, Richard “Richie” Cabral and Alfred Cabral. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Martin Rubio, father, Richard S. Cabral, Brother, Randall “Randy” Cabral, and Son, Nicolas “Nick” Valdez.
