Lawrence Gordon Bloemsma

Lawrence Gordon Bloemsma,88, of Redlands, California passed away on September 19, 2023, of natural causes. He was born on January 31, 1935, to Cora and Henry Wigger of Michigan and was adopted and raised by Alberta and Lambert Bloemsma. He graduated high school in Zeelands, Michigan. 

Joined the Air Force at 19 and spent the rest of his service as a civil servant. He is preceded in death by his biological mother and father and adopted mother and father, one sister and two brothers. Lawrence is survived by his wife Lil, son Gordon, daughter Valerie and stepson David and 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Lawrence enjoyed serving the Lord and bringing the good news to inmates and others. A long-time rest home ministry, he also gave blood for more than 30 years donating over 175 gallons, he enjoyed gardening and serving his church, playing guitar and his dog Daisy. 

There will be a service on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 9:30am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel followed by a graveside service at Riverside National Cemetery at 11: 45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Packing House of Redlands Church, 9700 Alabama St, Redlands CA or you can give blood at LifeStream Blood Bank in San Bernardino, CA in his honor.
