Laura Therese Jordan

It is with great sadness, to announce that Laura Therese Jordan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 28, 2020.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Arlene Charipar. She is survived by her husband, Russ Jordan; three children, Kimberly Graham (Daniel), Jason Jordan and Lisa Jordan; two grandchildren, Aiden and Ryan; and her two sisters, Cindy Novak (Alan) and Sandy Beck.
Laura was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA. She obtained her LPN in Iowa and then moved with her family in 1981 to Woodbury, MN where she obtained her RN degree. In 1991 she moved to Southern California and eventually settled in Redlands, CA. Laura was a nurse for over 40 years, her last 20 years at Loma Linda.
Laura was a very compassionate person and this quality always shown through in her nursing. She was a petite woman, but with the strength, determination and conviction of a saint. The Loma Linda Health Care community was a large part of Lauras life. Laura maintained many friendships after retirement, even continuing to bake cakes for coworkers and doctors.
Laura enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, hiking, traveling, baking and writing. Her two grandsons were a huge enjoyment for her and took great delight in their activities. Laura was always an animal person and loved to walk her mini dachshunds each evening.
Laura was the epitome of strength and determination. She did not let lifes challenges define her. She was strong in her convictions but had a very warm and playful disposition. She had a very good sense of humor and very clever in her practical jokes. Laura was an inspiration to those that knew her and the light she brought into this world will be missed.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at 11:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA
