Kenneth R. Dowell, Sr. Passed away July 24, 2009 at the Citrus Valley Hospice in West Covina, California. He was born on July 26, 1913 in Melbourne, Missouri and was a Covina resident for the past 5 years. He was a former Yucaipa resident for 60 years. He was a graduate of Trenton High School in Trenton, Missouri. He married Imogene Louise McRae on June 30, 1938 in Santa Monica, California. She preceded him in death on October 5, 1992. Kenneth was retired from FMC of Riverside as a Welder and Salesman and also raised oranges on 3 acres in upper Yucaipa. Kenneth was VERY active in the Masonic Lodge, serving as Past Master and life member of the Redlands Lodge; District Inspector for 19 years; and a Hiram Award recipient. Life member of Scottish Rite; Past Venerable Master; Knight Commander, Court of Honor; and Thirty-third Scottish Rite Mason; Member of Al Malaikah Shrine; Member of Research Lodge of London; Member of Royal Order of Scotland and A.Robert the Bruce Association; Charter member of Yucaipa Eastern Star; Member White Shrine of Jerusalem in Yucaipa; Holder of DeMolay Legion of Honor. He is survived by his sons: Ken Jr. Of Yucaipa; Richard of Newport Beach; sister, Lorraine Gottwald of Fort Pierce, Florida and special friend, Alice Dykstra, of Covina, CA. Granddaughter, Anita Dowell of Phelan, CA; grandson, Kenny Dowell of Riverside, CA, one great-granddaughter, Colleen Dowell of Riverside, CA. Memorial Services will be held at both the Redlands Masonic Lodge and the Masonic Home in Covina, California at a later time. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa is in charge of arrangements.
