Joyce Ann Shields

Joyce Ann Shields, age 67, passed away October 6, 2009 at Redlands Community Hospital. She was born November 14, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Joyce retired from civil service, worked at Long Beach Naval Station and the VA Hospital in Loma Linda. Last full time position was of secretary to the Head Chaplain at Norton Air Force base until its closure. After retiring, she worked part time as church secretary at the State Street Christian Church in Redlands.
Current memberships include: Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Unit #106 of Redlands. She held offices of secretary and treasure.
She was also a member of the Citrus Belt Quilters of Redlands and of  The Redlands Chapter of the American Sewing Guild.

Joyce is survived by her husband, John L. Shields of Redlands, CA and her brother, James V. French of Vinita, OK.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, Ca with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, CA.
