Jimmie D. Evans

Jimmie D. Evans of East Highlands passed away on Saturday December 17th in the early morning hours at the age of 83 in the home he built. At his bedside his wife of 61 years held his hands with his children, grand children and great grand children surrounding him. He passed peacefully of natural causes with his family caring for him. Jimmie was born November 1st, 1928 in Dawson, Texas to Ernest T. Evans and Nannie L. Thomas. He had two sibling Glen Evans and Aline Patrick-Evans. He joined the air force when he was 18 years old and fought in World war two and the Korean war. He married his wife Billie Jean on June 1st, 1950. They had Three children Glen Allen, Danny Charles And Tena Ann. Jimmie and his wife opened Evans Auto Care in San Bernardino and ran the business for 40 years. They also opened Evans Christmas Tree farm in East highland which was opened for over 30 years. Jimmie had a great love of flying. He spent a lot of his time flying with his wife and close friends. His Mooney airplane was kept at Redlands Airport. Jimmie was a blessed man he was surrounded by love happiness and friendship. He is survived by his loving wife Billie Evans, his two children Danny Evans and Tena Rorer. daughter-in-law Brenda Evans, his four grand children Jessica Kostiuk, Danny Evans, April Lorence and Trevor Rorer. And four great grand children Tyler Kostiuk, Alayna Lorence, Haley Kostiuk and Valarie Lorence and lots of cousin, nieces and nephews.
