Jeffrey Alan Peters

December 8, 1964 — April 8, 2022

December 8, 1964 – April 8, 2022, Jeffrey Alan Peters was born in Newark, OH, and passed peacefully from this life on April 8, 2022, at the age of 57, with his family by his side at home in Redlands, CA.

Jeff took on the fight against brain cancer (Glioblastoma Brain Tumor) with great determination for 17 months. He reached out to other GBT patients and supported them in their journey as well. While living with a GBT, his physical condition changed, but his generosity, hope and spirituality never wavered.

Sergeant Peters served four years in the 101st, Airborne Unit, Army and an additional two years in the Reserve. A highlight of Jeff's military career was his service at the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Jeff earned a BA from the University of Montana where he was an active member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He went on to complete his MBA at the University of Redlands.

Twenty-five years ago, Jeff embarked on his professional journey with Esri (a mapping & analytics software company). His passion for the company’s values inspired him to increase global partnerships. He took pride in knowing his efforts empowered organizations to solve some of the world’s most complex problems. Jeff always strived to support others in their own goals and aspirations, as shown by his personal and professional mentorships.

Outside of work, Jeff found peace and solitude in rural Montana on Flathead Lake. He often shared it was the place where he felt closest to God. Jeff and Trisha vacationed in “Big Sky Country'' during the summers and spent time planting a small orchard of cherry, apple, apricot and peach trees. Jeff pursued the life of a fruit grower, while having access to high-speed internet to play video games with his family and friends. It was an evening ritual for Jeff and Trisha to walk the orchard, pick fruit to enjoy and plan their retirement. They also imagined and chatted about future visits with their children and grandchildren. He was a proud father to his son, Daniel and his daughter, Maria. Dinner conversations with the whole family were a special time of day. Everything from big life topics to planning the house and yard projects that would be completed over the summer were typical. Over the years, he enjoyed many pastimes such as fishing, learning to sail, gardening, reading poetry and scripture, and spending many hours in the kitchen. His most recent culinary accomplishment was baking a perfect apple pie using the freshly picked apples from the orchard.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Trisha Ann; daughter, Maria Ann; son, Daniel William (Amanda); grandchildren, Diana Maria and Joseph Xavier; parents, Wilbur Lester and Vicki Sharon Peters; brother, Noel Daniel Peters (Stephanie); sister, Sharon Kathleen Stripeik (Jim); mother-in-law, Anne “LaLa” Romero Ybarra. Predeceased are sisters Tammy Jo Peters and Deborah Dawn Peters.

Jeff will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (115 West Olive Ave, Redlands, CA) on June 14, 2022. A rosary will be said at 10:30 AM followed by a Requiem Mass at 11:00 AM. A reception in the church hall with light refreshments will follow.

To honor Jeff’s military service in the 101st Airborne Rangers Unit, Army, he will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, CA, on June 15th. This will be a private burial interment service.
