Helen Cedano Barron

July 1, 1917 — April 13, 2009

HELEN CEDANO BARRON, 91, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2009, in the home that her deceased husband, Joseph built for her. Born in Redlands on July 1, 1917. Helen was the eldest of five children, which included Pete, Marshall, Alexander, and Irene Cedano. She met the love of her life, Joseph L. Barron, together they raised three children. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the United States, Canada and Mexico. Together they instilled a love of the outdoors in their children and grandchildren. After 54 years of marriage, Joseph passed away in 1988. Helen never remarried because she said "no one could take his place." She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a homemaker, her energy was boundless when it came to taking care of those nearest her. Her interests were history, writing, travel, knitting, sewing and gardening. Helen's thinking was sharp and she once said, "The bad thing about getting old was that your body gets old, but inside you still feel young." She is survived by her brother, Pete Cedano of Chino; son, Robert and wife, Rhea Barron of New Orleans; daughter, Cecelia and husband, Joseph Aguirre of Fallbrook, daughter, Grace and husband, Gonzalo Gonzales of Redlands; seven grandchildren, Michael Aguirre, Annette McBride, Denise Saenz, Kathy Yglesias, Elizabeth, Emiliano and Elena Barron; seven great-grandchildren and former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth C. Barron. Viewing will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Apri l 21, 2009, at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, located at 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA. Memorial Services to be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Emmerson-Bartlett Chapel with Interment to follow at Redlands Hillside Cemetery.
