Gretchen Patrice Kennard

Gretchen Patrice Kennard ~ Beloved mother, wife, sister and daughter. Born January 5, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, Gretchen passed away December 1, 2009 losing her 5 year battle with breast cancer. She moved to Redlands in 1969, graduating from RHS class of 1974 where her exploits were legendary. She graduated from ASU in Flagstaff, AZ and earned her Master s degree from CSUSB in 1988. A Riverside resident since 1993, she taught at Victoria Elementary School in Redlands for 28 years where she was one of the most popular teachers at the school. Gretchen is survived by husband Mike Kennard and sons Logan 18 and Conor 15, mother Terry Brown and brother Scott Brown of Redlands, and Kip Brown of Santa Barbara; preceded by brother Craig Brown and father Jack Brown. She touched the hearts of all she knew and leaves behind many loving friends, family and colleagues. Anyone wishing to donate in her memory may contribute to Breast Cancer Research. Services will be held at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands on Sunday, December 6th, at 1:00pm. A celebration of her life will be held at the Tartan in Redlands following the service.
