OBITUARY - GEORGE GRANT CHILD George, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to his eternal rest on Wed., March 6, 2013, in Redlands. George was born on June 4, 1946 in Alhambra, CA and spent his childhood residing in Rosemead, CA. He lived within the San Gabriel Valley until moving to Yucaipa in 1984. He has been a resident of Redlands since 1992.? George enjoyed playing golf, water aerobics at the Redlands YMCA, and playing canasta. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy; his two children, Michael and Lori Alm; his son-in-law, Lance Alm; and his three grandsons - Jeremie, Josh, and Joseph Alm. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Flangas; his niece, Nicole Flangas, and his nephew, Christopher Flangas. His main focus for the past few years has been enjoying his grandchildren and spending as much time as he could with them at sporting events and other activities. A chapel service is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th, at the Emmerson-Bartlett Mortuary, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA. A celebration of George's life will follow at the Alm home in Redlands. Private interment is planned at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Calimesa, CA.
