Gary Louis Cottini

February 24, 1944 — June 6, 2020

A beloved and exceptional father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, and friend,
Gary Louis Cottini is survived by his son Jeff, his daughter Janine, seven grandchildren; Sabrina, Kain, Vincent, Dominic, Julian, Adrian, and Elias, and two great-grandchildren; Lorenzo and Lucien.
Gary was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 24th of 1944. As a boy, he attended Saint Alphonsus Catholic School. He enjoyed carrom and lettered in basketball. After graduating from Don Bosco Technical High School, in 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and various bases in the United States. Following his service, Gary went on to earn a degree from Rio Hondo College, where he met former wife, Clorinda, and thereafter started his family. He worked at Yellow Freight System Inc. and retired after 38 years.
Gary was a great enthusiast of music, sports, food, and comedy. Everyone who knew him recognized his appreciation for the game of pool, a good rock-n-roll concert, and a fresh strawberry waffle. He was clever, funny, and full of so much love. He took pride in his family and cared for them fiercely. His presence in all our lives will be cherished.
When you think of Gary, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that "life, afterall, is in the living".
