Gary Gene Branstetter

December 22, 1943 — November 11, 2017

Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gary Gene Branstetter died on November 11, 2017 in Redlands, CA. He was born December 22, 1943 in Joplin, MO. He graduated from El Cajon High School in 1961 and attended San Diego State University where he played baseball and football and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated from there in 1965 and completed his Master’s Degree at Azuza Pacific in 1972. He was a teacher and a coach at Redlands High School from 1965-1980 where he coached football and golf. After teaching at Redlands High School, he took over the family citrus business for 20 years during which time he was on the Sunkist Board of Directors for 15 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and his family.
He married Ann (Stevning) Branstetter on April 10, 1965 and together they had two sons, Matt, married to Kristen (March) Branstetter and Mike, married to Kristin (Easley) Branstetter. Loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren; Cody, Garrett, Ethan and Haylie, Matt and Kristen’s children and Megan, Michael and Matthew, Mike and Kristin’s children. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Imogene Branstetter.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday December 3, 2017, 2:00 pm, at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA 92373, with a reception to follow. Friends may leave condolences for the family at www.emmersonbartlett.com. Flowers are welcome as well as donations in Gary’s name to the Redlands Benchwarmers Association, P.O. Box 9421, Redlands, CA 92375.
He will be greatly missed and remain forever in our hearts.
