Doris Irene Hurt

Doris Irene Hurt Our angel has left this world and ascended to Heaven. Doris Irene Hurt was born on March 23, 1923 in Muscotah, Kansas to parents Philip Leroy Mathena and Agnes Laura Mathena. She entered eternal life January 7, 2014. Doris worked for the Redlands Unified School District for 27 years. She was a lifetime member of the PTA. She assisted members of the Calimesa Friends of the Library. Following her retirement she volunteered much of her time to the kitchen at the Norton Younglove Senior Center. Doris was named Calimesa s Citizen of the Year in 1999. Over the years, Doris worked for many local and Redlands businesses and was loved by all. Preceded in death by her husband Terry Kent Hurt, she is survived by her children, Charles (Rita) Hurt, Judy (Dean) Hardy, Janet, (Rodney) Jones, and Raymond (Kathy) Hurt; grandchildren, Carol Gordon, Garrett Hurt, Karen Hardy, Toni Hair, Tracy Eisele, Robert Jones, Amy Spadoni, Hillary Stubbin and Becky Hofer; she also leaves 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Al Mathena of Temple, AZ, John Mathena of Redding, CA and sister, Edith Equels of Yucaipa, CA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014, from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA., with burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA at 1:31pm.
