Cynthia G. Monfort

April 17, 1943 — January 29, 2015

Cynthia G. Monfort, 71, of Yucaipa, California, passed away in her home where she was surrounded by family on Thursday night. A devoted and beloved mother, Cindy is survived by her four children, Kim Monfort (Pleasanton), Melissa Kovalcik (Redlands), Clint Monfort (Long Beach), and Megan Morales (Anaheim Hills), as well as her six grandchildren. Cindy was born in McRae, Georgia and raised in the nearby town of Alamo, where she grew up on on a farm. Her childhood was filled with fond experiences shared with a group of first cousins who were also her best friends. A talented basketball player, Cindy was selected to play on the all-state team in high school. She went on to attend the Women's College of Georgia and received her associates degree in 1963. Cindy lived in many parts of the country, eventually settling in Redlands, California, where she raised her family. She was well known for her popular children's clothing boutique, Children's Carousel, on State Street in Redlands. Cindy later attended the University of Redlands, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude before going on to work as the Administrative Supervisor for the District Attorney's Office of San Bernardino County until her retirement. Cindy's greatest joy in life came from providing for her children and grandchildren, and spending cherished moments with family. She was full of life, with a lively sense of humor that stayed with her through her final days. Cindy's adventurous and fearless nature came through in everything she did, and her tenderness left a lasting impression on all of those who knew her. Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 5th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Yucaipa. Internment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands.
