Chalmer Hebert Flynn

September 6, 1944 — June 28, 2009

Chalmer Herbert Flynn passed away peacefully on June 28th in Grand Terrance, CA surrounded by his family. The cause of death was cancer. Herb, as he was known, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sept 6th, 1944. He graduated from Ramona High School in Riverside in 1962. He served in the Navy from 1965 through 1969. After his stint in the military he worked in aviation for a bit before becoming an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for the next 30 years. For a period of time, Herb worked for Guidant in Temecula where he was in charge of quality control. He was a member of the Colton 1st Ward congregation of the LDS church for many years and more recently of the Redlands 5th Ward. He married Linda Sue Meese in 1970 and they had four children: Devin Flynn of Portland, Oregon; Sunny Ray of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Patrick Flynn of Troy, Michigan; and Stephanie Flynn of Grand Terrace, California all of whom survive him. He is also survived by his two sisters, Donna Sled and Denise Shaw and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 3rd at 10am at the LDS Chapel on 640 S Center St., Redlands, CA 92373. Herb will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, California is in charge of arrangements.
