Celestine "Rosie" Martinez

Celestine “Rosie” Martinez, age 98, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 23, 2021. She was born on May 12, 1923 in Orange, County to Francisco & Maria (Falcon) Torrez. She was married to her beloved husband, Peter Y. Martinez for 61 years.

Rosie as she was known lived in Redlands all her life. She worked at Redlands Community Hospital until she retired. She enjoyed traveling, some casino gambling, working in her rose garden and spending time with family.

She leaves behind her daughter, Lorraine Escalante; son, Roland Martinez; her loving grandsons, Thomas & Peter Escalante; great-grandsons, Thomas Ray & Daniel Escalante; great-granddaughter, Monica Escalante; great-great grandson, Julis Escalante; step-gramma to Raelene & Ralph Salinas, and Angie & Alyssa Amador; and lots of nieces & nephews.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Y. Martinez, daughter, Judy Martinez, brother’s, Mariano & Perfecto Torrez, and baby sister, Alice Diaz.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at 11:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA 92373 with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Road, Redlands, CA at 1:00pm
